The Deltek MSTeams Bot project aims to enhance the user experience for Deltek VantagePoint users by integrating its Timesheet service directly into Microsoft Teams. This innovative solution addresses operational inefficiencies caused by frequent application switching, particularly during time-sensitive tasks like timesheet submissions.
Deltek VantagePoint users often encounter workflow disruptions due to the need to switch between multiple applications, which hampers productivity and user satisfaction. These interruptions can lead to delays in critical tasks, such as submitting timesheets, ultimately affecting overall operational efficiency.
To tackle these challenges, we propose the development of a Teams Bot that seamlessly integrates Deltek Vantagepoint’s Timesheet service within Microsoft Teams. Utilizing natural language processing (NLP) and OpenAI technology, the bot interprets user prompts and guides them through the timesheet submission process intuitively. For example, when a user requests to log hours for a project, the bot processes the input and initiates the necessary actions via the Timesheet API. The bot’s modular design enables easy scalability, allowing for the future integration of additional Deltek services as user needs evolve.
The Deltek MSTeams Bot is expected to deliver significant productivity gains and operational efficiencies. Users can save an estimated 10-15 minutes per timesheet submission, potentially reducing overall time spent on timesheet management by up to 30%. Additionally, the streamlined process within Teams is projected to enhance productivity by 10-20% for project-driven teams. The bot’s modular architecture also paves the way for future expansions, promoting a unified user experience and addressing key pain points for Vantagepoint users.
